Day 3: Wednesday 29 August, 2018
Stratford upon Avon

This morning we travel to the village of Bourton on-the- Water. It is known for it’s picturesque High Street, flanked by long wide greens and the River Windrush that runs through them. The river is crossed by several low, arched stone bridges. These arched bridges are why Bourton on-the-Water is being called the “Venice of the Cotswolds”.

In the afternoon we will travel to Warwick Castle. It is a magnificent castle rising sheer above the river Avon, seat of the Earls of Warwick founded in the 11th Century
by William the Conqueror in 1068. It owes its present grandeur to the Fourteenth century Beauchamp Earls and provides us with a fine example of fourteenth century fortifications complete with dungeons. You will have free time to explore this castle.

Romantic castles and the beautiful English landscape make wonderful subjects.
