The first weekend Studio Workshop for 2017. We will work on a number of different subjects and as well as incorporating new techniques, we will concentrate on composition and re arrangement of our subject
The workshop is suitable for all skill levels. We will work hard, have a lot of fun and produce some spectacular paintings!

The workshop will be held in my studio at 42 Tierney Drive, Currumbin, 4223.
 9:00am - 4:30pm

We are 10min from Coolangatta Airport and reasonably priced accommodation is just 5 minutes away.

PARKING:
Tierney Drive is narrow and busy so please park in either of the 2 driveways or on the lawn.
 

Morning tea will be provided, but bring your own lunch. There is a fridge for food and drinks and a constant supply of tea or coffee




RECOMENDED MATERIALS
PAINT
French Ultramarine Blue
Phthalo Blue ( or Winsor or Prussian )
Permanent Alizarin Crimson (or Art Spectrum Permanent Crimson)
Quinacridone Gold (or Indian Yellow )
Phthalo Green (if you happen to have a tube)

White Gouache
Small container of Gesso

INK
Burnt Sienna pigment ink (Art Spectrum) Screw cap on tight and seal in zip lock plastic bag if flying.
Plain dip in pen and nib

BRUSHES
1/2 inch flat Taklon (One Stroke)
1/4 inch flat Taklon(One Stroke)
1/8 inch flat Taklon(One Stroke)
#1 or #2 Taklon liner
Neef are a good brand of taklon brush
An old 1/2” bristle house painting brush (I will supply these)
2” or 3” Hake brush or wide soft goat hair brush

OLD TOWEL
Handy for adjusting the amount of water in your brush.

PALETTE
Small enamel or plastic folding palette

PENCILS
A couple of Schwan Stabillo or Conte, pastel pencils
A black and a white charcoal pencil.
A couple of inktense pencils (Brown or Grey)
...and a craft knife to keep them sharp

WATER SPRAY BOTTLE
Small atomizer type sprays are best for traveling. If you can't find one of these, cut down the tube on a normal
spray bottle to screw onto a smaller container.

PAPER
I prefer Arches Watercolor blocks 300gsm (140lb) 26x36cm (approx.10" x 14") or I carry sheets of arches paper
cut into quarters and tape them onto a core flute backing board with masking tape as I paint on them.
